Integrating a Family Room Wall
I was referred to these customers in Chapel Hill by a former customer in the same neighborhood. As you can see from the first photo, they had some unremarkable furniture on either side of the Family Room fireplace that they were ready to replace with custom-designed built-in pieces.

During the first meeting, it came out that they were also considering removing the old fireplace, and bringing the whole wall together to work with their collection of craftsman style furniture. They had a definite budget in mind and knew what they wanted for finishes, so it was easy to create something for them that fit their needs. The customers did a great job selecting paint colors and tile that went with the style of the project. I only needed to make minor adjustments to fit the tile pattern into the space available for the fireplace wall. We delivered the components to their house pre-finished, so installation and trim went quickly, making it possible for the tile installer and painter to complete their work in three days. The mantel board is White Oak finished to work with their Stickley furniture. The desk includes a full extension pull-out for the printer. The media drawers are Maple drawer boxes on full extension soft-closing slides with media dividers attached to the bottoms. See what they had to say.
